Editor's Verdict: PostaDVD's website design is solid but nothing special. What you need to find is clearly accessible but rather too much is squeezed in at the edges in a tiny, tiny font, all of which could be made to look a lot more engaging than it does. The inventory is easily browsable but a quick search reveals that several key titles, which no discerning DVD rental service should be without, are missing. On the plus side, PostaDVD operates a loyalty points system whereby returning DVDs earns you points that can be redeemed later - return 167 DVDs and you earn a £20 voucher, though a quick calculation reveals that even if you go rental mental and return 4 batches of 3 DVDs every month this will still take more than a year. Unusually, PostaDVD offers annual as well as monthly packages, though this may seem like too much of a commitment for some. Aside from whether you get 14 days free or a whole month, the value works out much the same whether you pay yearly or monthly, and it has to be said that those prices, particularly those of the heavy-use options, are generally better than those of most of the DVD rental services listed in our Top 10. They are also unusual in not charging more for renting games than DVDs. The service works much like many of the other DVD rental sites listed in this category. You create a list of DVDs you want and however many DVDs your package allows you to have at once are sent to you by post in an order dictated by their ranking in your list and the availability of the discs. When you're done watching them, you just pop them in the pre-paid return envelope. Quite soon after they receive your returned DVDs they'll mail you the next batch of DVDs from your list. Though Post A DVD was dogged by complaints of slow delivery and poor customer service in its early days, in the past year or so these have largely disappeared. What remains is an accessible online DVD rental service which offers excellent value for money, albeit on a slightly stunted range of titles.
