Editor's Verdict: Perversely, given the name, DVD choice appears to offer a much smaller range of titles than its larger competitors, and a quick search confirms that many essential titles are indeed missing from the inventory. Of course if your tastes are fairly mainstream this may not be a problem, and besides it always feels good to support a small family-run business rather than a corporate monster and that's the price you pay. You'd think they'd pick a name that plays to their strengths rather than highlights an obvious weakness. A better choice might be "DVD Nice" or " DVD Tidy" for example, given their well organised and friendly website, which makes signing up and beginning to receive DVDs rapid and easy. The service works much like many of the other DVD rental sites listed in this category. You create a list of DVDs you want and however many DVDs your package allows you to have at once are sent to you by post in an order dictated by their ranking in your list and the availability of the discs. When you're done watching them, you just pop them in the pre-paid return envelope. Once they receive your returned DVDs they'll mail you the next batch of DVDs from your list. The choice of plans is wide and includes unique yearly options which save you a considerable amount of money at the cost of a longer term commitment. Whether this works better for you depends entirely on whether your lifestyle allows you to watch enough DVDs to make this better value than the smaller packages, though one can't help but imagine that a real DVD animal might sometimes want more than 2 discs at a time, which this service does not allow for. And presumably if you decide you don't like the service after a month or two you're stuck with it. In general the value offered by these options is competitive but not exceptional.
